Malelane is a town on the southern side of the World Famous Kruger National Park. In the sugar cane rich area of Nkomazi, the town is well known as a gateway to the Kruger Park through the Malelane Gate. The region is also a departure point to cultural experiences in Maputo, Mozambique and Swaziland (eSwatini). The Internationally known Leopards Creek golf course is a short drive away as well as a selection of other activities.
This world-renowned park was proclaimed in 1926, when the Sabie Game Reserve and the Shingwedzi Reserve were consolidated. President Paul Kruger was told about the rapid destruction of wildlife in the area, and succeeded to persuade the Transvaal parliament to establish a wildlife protected area between the Sabie and Crocodile rivers, which opened to the public in 1927.

Leopard Creek Golf Course
The Leopard Creek Golf Course is, hands down, South Africa’s best wildlife / safari golfing experience. The course actually borders the Kruger National Park, separated by nothing less than the carving crocodile river.
When you imagine a golf course in this habitat it’s easy to fall into the trap of thinking that the grounds are just as scrubby and arid as its lowveld surroundings but nothing could be further from the truth. In fact, Johann Rupert and his team have spared no cost in creating one of the lushest and indeed finest playing surfaces in the country.
Malelane Golf Course
Rated one of the best nine-hole courses in South Africa, Malalane Golf Club is situated less than 1 km away from the southern border of the Kruger National Park. There are crocodiles in the stream, small buck are often seen and even hippo occasionally venture onto the course.
